The Cooler Pro has three touch keys on the front panel, below the display. There is no AUTO key.

The display shows the live interior temperature in °C alongside a battery level bar. The bar is the only battery readout — there is no percentage.

Tap + or − to choose your target. The Cooler Pro can be set anywhere from 0 °C to 18 °C, and arrives set to 8 °C.

From room temperature the chamber reaches the 0–8 °C band in roughly 30 minutes, and settles at its best after about an hour. Give it that head start before you load medication for a trip.

For insulin, GLP-1 pens and most biologics, 2–8 °C is the usual target — always follow the storage instructions printed on your medicine and its leaflet.

Double-tap the power key (⏻) — two quick taps — to lock the touch panel. Double-tap again to unlock.

Locking stops the + and − keys being nudged while the cooler is in a bag, a cupholder or a suitcase. While it is locked the display carries on showing the live interior temperature, and cooling is completely unaffected.

Earlier versions of our website described the lock as a long press. That was our mistake and it is corrected — the gesture has always been a double-tap.

The Cooler Pro runs either cordless on a Power Cell or plugged into Type-C. The two modes are separate, and only one can be in use at a time.

Power Cells charge outside the cooler, on the separate battery charging cable included in your kit. Connect the cell to the cable and plug it into any USB source — wall adapter, laptop, car socket or power bank.

Because charging happens outside the unit, you can top up a spare cell while another one is running the cooler — which is how the two- and three-cell kits give you a full travel day without a socket.

Charge cells only with the cable supplied. Store spare cells in the travel bag's outer pocket so the connector is not loose against keys or coins.

• Open the base cap at the bottom of the body.
• Tip the cell in and lay it flat.
• Plug the connector into the socket.
• Refit the base cap.

A swap takes under a minute once you have done it once.

• Charge your Power Cells fully before the first trip (6–7 hours each, red to green).
• Fit a cell, or connect Type-C with the cell removed.
• Hold ⏻ for about 3 seconds to switch on.
• Tap + / − to set your target — usually 2–8 °C.
• Let it run empty for about an hour so the chamber is properly cold, then load your medication.
• Double-tap ⏻ to lock the panel before it goes in a bag.

The interior is a single cylindrical well, 5.0 cm across and 17.8 cm deep, with a cold plate at the base. How much fits depends on the shape of your device, not on what it treats:

For a per-medication answer, use the "Made to fit your medication" finder on the Cooler Pro product page. Pens with a wide cap and a slim barrel nest better nose-to-tail — it is always worth a dry fit before you travel.

• The cooler and its cells go in your carry-on. Spare lithium cells must travel in the cabin and must never be checked.
• Each Power Cell is 37.7 Wh, comfortably under the 100 Wh airline threshold — so no airline approval and no paperwork.
• Medication and gel cold packs are exempt from the 100 ml liquids rule. Declare them at screening.
• Carry your prescription and a short letter from your doctor stating that you need refrigerated medication and a cooling device. This is usually asked for at customs on arrival rather than at security.
• Cells cannot be recharged mid-flight — run the cooler from a seat socket instead if one is available.

Destination countries have their own rules on importing prescription medication. Those rules are about the medicine, not the cooler.

• Set 2–8 °C for insulin, GLP-1 pens and most refrigerated biologics — but the leaflet that came with your medicine is always the final word.
• Keep medication in its original pharmacy-labelled packaging.
• Do not let medication freeze. If your medicine has been below its stated range, do not use it — check with your pharmacist.
• Some medicines are room-temperature and should not be refrigerated. Check the leaflet before you cool anything.
• Once a pen or vial is in use, the in-use window is set by the leaflet, not by this device.

• Do not immerse the unit or the Power Cells in water, and do not run the cooler while it is wet.
• Keep the vents at the base clear — the unit needs airflow to shed heat. Do not run it wrapped in a towel or sealed inside a tight bag.
• Do not disassemble, pierce or modify a Power Cell. Stop using any cell that is swollen, damaged or hot to the touch.
• Do not leave the unit in direct sun or in a parked car in high heat.
• Use only the cables and adapters supplied with your kit.
• Keep the unit and cells out of the reach of children.
